LFCDS, founded in 1888 and located on a 30-acre campus about 30 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, is a co-educational, independent day school serving 420 students from age 2 through eighth grade. The Advancement & Athletics Operations Associate provides essential administrative, logistical, and coordination support across the LFCDS Advancement team and Athletic department. For Advancement, this role ensures that processes, people, and programs are well-organized and well-supported, allowing all members of the Advancement staff and volunteers to focus on relationship-building, strategy, and impact. This position serves as a key connector and operational support partner across the team’s enrollment, engagement, and fundraising initiatives.

For Athletics, this role is responsible for on-site gameday operations, coordinating with officials, parent volunteers, and school staff. The Assistant owns all elements of the Athletics calendar: schedules, practices, games, and transportation. The Assistant hires and trains all coaches and manages the department budget. The Assistant serves as a partner with school leadership when managing student/parent needs and concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Advancement Operational Support

  • Assist in the planning and execution of Advancement projects across the school’s enrollment, engagement, and philanthropy initiatives.
  • Support Advancement deliverables, calendars, timelines, and workflows.
  • Manage event logistics: registration, materials, check-in support, and other related tasks.

Athletics Operational Support

  • Coordinate on-site gameday operations, including working with officials, parent volunteers, and school staff.
  • Manage the Athletics calendar, including schedules, practices, games, and transportation.
  • Hire and train coaches and manage the department budget.
  • Partner with school leadership to manage student/parent needs and concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, preferably in education or non-profit administration.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
