Join The Crew:

We are hiring an Application Engineer to join our Technology team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing Away’s Shopify storefront, custom theme extensions, and POS integrations. You’ll implement fast, elegant, and conversion-focused digital experiences across our customer touchpoints, partnering with Product, Brand, and Growth Marketing teams to maintain existing systems and deliver new features that help the business scale.

What you’ll do as the Application Engineer:

• Maintain and update Away’s Shopify theme, using Liquid templating to implement design changes and features that ensure a performant and brand-aligned storefront.
• Contribute to the development of internal Shopify apps using Node.js and Remix, assisting with features for promotions, bundling, and checkout customizations under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs within the Shopify storefront and POS integrations, serving as a reliable point of contact for operational issues and escalating high-complexity challenges when necessary.
• Support Away’s retail team by implementing updates to Shopify POS UI extensions and collaborating with the team to resolve any issues.

• Experience with Shopify theme development and Liquid templating.
• Knowledge of Node.js and Remix for developing internal Shopify apps.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve bugs within the Shopify storefront and POS integrations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
