Assistant Camp Counselors play a vital role in supporting our summer program, Camp Carey. This is an active, high-energy position that requires strong supervision skills, initiative, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. Assistant Camp Counselors help facilitate daily activities, ensure camper safety, and foster a positive environment for all. The Assistant Camp Counselor reports to the Auxiliary Programs Director and works under the guidance of the Lead Counselor. This is a full-time, seasonal position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Lead Counselor in prepping and facilitating hands-on activities and projects.
  • Collaborating with fellow Assistant Counselors to plan and lead outdoor group games.
  • Actively supervising and engaging campers throughout the camp day to ensure their safety, well-being, and enjoyment.
  • Demonstrating strong situational awareness and sound judgment to maintain camper safety.
  • Fostering an inclusive, team-oriented environment and modeling positive and appropriate interactions.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe camp environment, including classrooms, outdoor spaces, and equipment.
