The Head Boys Soccer Coach at VES is responsible for supporting the school’s mission in the boys soccer program and directing all aspects of Varsity and Junior Varsity boys soccer, as well as running year-round soccer programming. The individual will work closely with the Athletic Director on supporting the needs of this program.
The Head Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for the following (but not limited to):
Continuing to develop the vision for the VES program
Create and implement clear standards and expectations of both coaches and players within the boys soccer program aligned with and supportive of VES’s expectations of coaches and players
Implement individual off-season and in-season skill development, which includes strength and conditioning
Work closely with the assistant coaches on practice planning and execution and game preparation
Work with Athletic Director to create game schedule for the program
Ensure compliance with Conference, VISAA and NCAA rules and regulations
Provide support for college recruiting with assistance from College Counseling office
Work closely with the Admissions office regarding student admissions
Create and run Winter/Spring Clinics/Camps for middle school students as part of admissions outreach.
Meet with Academic staff on a regular basis to ensure student-athletes are attaining the satisfactory progress
Ensure that student-athletes are adhering to Student Life and Community Standards.
Recruit and evaluate coaches and support staff in conjunction with the Dean of Faculty and/or Athletic Director
Create and execute Coaching Professional Development workshop and opportunities for all Coaching Staff
Supervise and evaluate the performance of student managers
Oversee uniform and equipment inventories and purchasing
Represent the boys soccer program at functions and events as needed.

Requirements
Experience as a Head Coach in a high school or collegiate setting
Strong knowledge of soccer rules and regulations
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to create and implement effective coaching plans
Experience with strength and conditioning programs
