The Interim College Counselor supports students and families in the college admissions process, working closely with the Director of College Counseling to provide individualized guidance that aligns with each student’s strengths, interests, and goals.

This role involves advising students in grades 9–12, managing application processes, and supporting school-wide college readiness initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advises a caseload of students and their families (primarily in grades 10–12) through all aspects of the college search and application process.
  • Conducts individual and group counseling sessions with students and families.
  • Assists with developing and delivering college counseling curriculum and workshops, while taking specific ownership of 9-10 grade curriculum.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in college counseling platforms.
  • Cultivates relationships with college and university admissions representatives; schedules and hosts campus visits.
  • Supports students applying to summer programs, scholarships, and other post-secondary opportunities.
  • Collaborates with faculty and school counselors to monitor student progress and advocate for students’ needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in College Counseling, School Counseling, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in college counseling or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of college admissions processes and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
