DescriptionGeneral Purpose: Provides a positive, engaging, and fun learning environment for students by developing curriculum and planning lessons and activities that are consistent with the various grade level goals of Spanish and aligned with the school's philosophy and mission.
Reports to: Elementary Director
Responsibilities include:
- Implement and lead an innovative, creative, and developmentally appropriate Spanish curriculum that spans multiple grade levels and aligns with the school's mission and educational philosophy.
- Design engaging lessons and learning experiences that support language acquisition while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote active participation.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that supports student engagement, collaboration, and respectful interactions.
- Employ developmentally appropriate classroom management and positive guidance practices to foster student responsibility, self-regulation, and a strong sense of community.
- Support students' social-emotional growth by helping them navigate group dynamics, solve problems constructively, and contribute positively to the classroom community.
- Work collaboratively with the Spanish teaching team, colleagues, and administrators to support student learning and program development.
- Communicate effectively with families through newsletters, progress updates, conferences, and as needed throughout the year.
- Prepare curriculum summaries and narrative comments for student progress reports twice annually.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events as appropriate.
- Maintain a manner consistent with the school's commitment to honest, direct, and respectful communication.

Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching experience in a bilingual or Spanish immersion setting preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues in both English and Spanish.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to social-emotional learning and student-centered education.
