The Director of Digital Learning & Innovation drives the strategic vision for how technology and creative making enhance the learning experience K-12 at Laurel School. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role manages the Educational Technology Pillar of the Technology & Library Services Department, providing direct leadership to the School’s educational technology program.

The Director balances administrative leadership with active teaching and the operational management of the 'Collaboratory' (Makerspace). Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and align the K-12 use of educational technology to support and challenge the learner, setting and developing the School’s strategic priorities for emerging technologies in concert with the CTO.
  • Manage the school's day-to-day application of AI and policy development.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive educational technology plan that aligns with the School's strategic goals and priorities.
  • Provide leadership and support to teachers in the effective integration of technology into their teaching practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their adoption and implementation at the School.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in educational technology leadership or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful educational technology initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and trends, and make recommendations for their adoption and implementation.
