Fay School seeks a dynamic, flexible, and creative individual who loves teaching music and understands how to engage elementary and middle school students.
This role includes teaching a range of instrumental music ensembles, including Jazz Band, String Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band.
This role involves developing students’ technical skills, musicianship, and collaborative performance abilities while fostering a vibrant ensemble culture.
In addition to assisting with the production of the upper school spring musical, the music teacher will prepare groups for performances throughout the year and inspire students to grow as confident, expressive musicians.
Outside the classroom, they are an advisor to a small group of students, coach or assist in afternoon programs, and participate in the residential life program.
This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. Campus housing may be available.
Candidates should have at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in an elementary or middle school.
Knowledge of Kodaly and keyboard experience are essential.
A bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
Working musicians with teaching experience, as well as their own performance pursuits, are encouraged to apply.
Teacher certification is not required.
