Middle & Upper School English Teacher

St. Mary Academy – Bay View seeks a full-time Middle & Upper School English Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering engaging coursework in reading, writing, literary analysis, and rhetoric across Middle School and Upper School grade levels;
• Developing curriculum using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework;
• Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and incorporating a wide range of literary genres and diverse voices;
• Assessing student learning to inform instruction and provide timely, constructive feedback to students, families, and administration;
• Integrating instructional and recordkeeping strategies using Google Suite and/or other relevant tools.

• Master's degree in English or related field;
• Teaching experience in Middle and Upper School English, preferably in an all-girls school;
• Experience with Understanding by Design (UbD) framework and Google Suite;
• Ability to differentiate instruction and incorporate diverse voices and literary genres;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Commitment to an all-girls education and Mercy values.
