Graland Country Day School is seeking a full-time Lower School Math Specialist. This role is dedicated to supporting student achievement for Pre-K through Fourth Grade students experiencing mathematics difficulties.
The Math Specialist works in direct consultation with administrators, classroom teachers, and the other three members of the Lower School Student Support Team (SST) personnel to identify needs, provide targeted interventions, and lead professional development to strengthen the division’s overall math instruction.
Reports to: Head of Lower School
Terms: Full-time, school year, starts August 2026
Job Responsibilities:

Student Support & Intervention:
- Targeted Services: Provide targeted math interventions, both in the classroom support and pull-out models, for students in Grades PK-4 identified with specific mathematics difficulties.
- Assessment & Data: Evaluate students to identify specific strengths and weaknesses and assess math skills to determine precise instructional needs; implement consistent progress monitoring and utilize targeted data to drive intervention strategies and inform classroom teachers’ instructional planning.
- Diverse Learning Profiles: Differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning profiles, including those with language-based learning disabilities.
- Documentation: Interpret psychoeducational evaluations to help write Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with other SST members.
- Reporting: Provide detailed, data-driven feedback through custom rubrics and personalized report card comments for caseload students.
