Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Aide to support our junior kindergarten program for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a Part-time position. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with young children, loves being outdoors in all weather, and is eager to assist in a dynamic, nature-inspired learning environment.
The Classroom Aide will work closely with the lead teacher to support daily activities, ensure safety, and help create meaningful learning experiences rooted in nature.
Key Responsibilities
Assist lead teachers in supervising and engaging children during indoor and outdoor activities.
Support daily routines, including arrival, snack, lunch, rest time, and departure.
Help set up and clean up learning environments, both indoors and outdoors.
Join children on nature walks, outdoor play, and exploration—encouraging curiosity and discovery.
Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed to help children succeed socially and academically.
Model respectful communication, kindness, and problem-solving skills.
Ensure children’s safety by following established health and safety guidelines.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning and reflection sessions.

Requirements
Required:
Experience working with preschool-aged children (formal or informal settings).
Enthusiasm for outdoor learning and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a warm and patient demeanor.
Ability to take direction from lead teachers and work collaboratively.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred:
Coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Previous experience working in a nature-based or outdoor education setting.
