Francis Parker School (Parker) is a coeducational independent day school in San Diego, California, with 1,330 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Job Description:

Under the direction of the Head of Communications and Marketing, the Director of Brand and Marketing Strategy serves as the School’s brand steward. This is a high-level individual contributor and managerial role that requires significant collaboration across multiple departments at the School, keen attention to detail, and a highly organized data-informed mindset. The Director is responsible for the end-to-end production lifecycle of all marketing collateral and the technical maintenance of the School’s primary digital presence.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Personnel & Collaborative Leadership
    • Manage, mentor, and conduct performance appraisals for the Graphic Designer.
    • Act as the creative liaison for the Senior Communications Specialist, Director of Internal Communications, and Communications Specialists, supporting the translation of their content into branded visual narratives.
    • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of professional conduct and emotional intelligence, ensuring that collaborative efforts with other departments (Admissions, Athletics, Arts, etc.) are met with transparency and respect.
  • Platform Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the School’s brand identity across all digital platforms, including the website, social media, and email marketing.
    • Design and produce marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and posters, to support the School’s marketing initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Admissions team to develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new students and families.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
  • Strong creative and technical skills, with experience in graphic design and digital marketing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence.
