Overview: The Mountain School at Winhall, an independent K–6 school in southern Vermont, seeks a dedicated and dynamic Upper School Math and Science Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025–26 academic year. This full-time position serves our upper school students with some combined grades. The teacher will also serve as a class advisor, supporting students' academic and social development in partnership with families and colleagues.

We are seeking an educator who embodies curiosity, clarity, and a profound commitment to upper elementary and middle school education. The successful candidate will create a classroom culture that supports active learning, cultivates problem-solving skills, and encourages scientific exploration, while maintaining high expectations and a warm, respectful tone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Math and Science to students in Grades 4-6 using:
• ThinkMath! as the core math curriculum
• Mystery Science as the foundation for science instruction, aligned with NGSS practices.
• Design and implement lessons that foster inquiry, collaboration, and connections to real-world applications and the natural world.
• Serve as a class advisor, supporting students in their social, emotional, and academic development.

• Experience teaching upper elementary and middle school students.
• Strong knowledge of math and science curriculum and instructional methods.
• Ability to create engaging and inclusive classroom environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
