Our Teacher Mission
Our teachers work diligently to ensure that our students experience all that is available to them through this unique educational program.
Our teachers know the importance of helping students become conscientious global citizens, and they approach that task with humility and honor.
Our teaching staff understands that academic achievement for our students happens inside the classroom and through an extensive experiential education program of rigorous maritime endeavors.
Our teachers embrace the opportunity to live in a close-knit community where they act as personal mentors who assist students in building their self-knowledge, growing their resilience, and honing their problem-solving and leadership skills.
Our teachers have an adventurous spirit and a need to explore the world to better themselves and the students who rely on them.
Our teaching staff must abide by the My Five to Global Leadership philosophy that guides all of our initiatives.
Courses
The typical classes that this teacher is responsible for are Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Physics 1.
Due to the unique structure of the program, teachers participate in a rotational schedule throughout the program year, alternating between time on board the ship and time on land.
Each teacher works in partnership with a counterpart who teaches the same courses during the opposite rotation, ensuring continuity of instruction and a consistent student experience.
