The Langley School, a Preschool-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a dynamic, collaborative, experienced, child-centered educator to serve as Associate Head of Lower School beginning in July 2026.

Associate division heads at Langley collaborate closely with division heads and other senior leaders around curricular programming, instruction, and operations; they work closely with students and families and contribute significantly toward achieving the goals outlined in the school's strategic plan. The Associate Head of Lower School position is an 11-month position and reports directly to the Head of Lower School.

Requirements

  • Successful instructional leadership, including curriculum development and implementation experience
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a senior leadership team
  • Experience with and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Master's degree in education or related field
