The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School seeks qualified candidates to serve as Director of Security. This position is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and execution of all safety and security operations across both campuses, including policy development, emergency preparedness, personnel supervision, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Security and Safety Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of security and safety at both campuses.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure a secure environment.
- Schedule, conduct, and evaluate emergency drills in cooperation with Principals.
- Maintain all security systems and assets, including emergency kits, CCTV cameras, access control, and two-way radios, ensuring full functionality and readiness.
- Conduct regular security audits of buildings, grounds, and events to ensure compliance and identify potential risks.
- Oversee campus security operations, including arrival and dismissal traffic flow, and security for athletic and other large-scale events.
Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness and crisis management plans.
- Ensure training and ongoing compliance with preparedness requirements.
- Establish and lead emergency response teams on both campuses.
- Assist in the development and submission of security grant applications to secure funding for safety initiatives, equipment, and emergency preparedness programs.
Security Technology Management:
- Collaborate with the IT department to support and maintain visitor management systems and other security technologies, ensuring their effective operation.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to security systems and technologies.
