Mary McDowell Friends School (MMFS) invites applications for a full-time Associate Physical Education Teacher beginning August 2026.

This position is an exciting opportunity to join our community of educators who are passionate about teaching and learning. As a Lower School Associate Physical Education Teacher, you will support the mission of the school by overseeing the safety and well-being of the students in lower school physical education classes. You will monitor and stimulate educational and social-emotional growth within the framework of the school’s mission by collaborating with your teaching partner to implement a curriculum that meets the needs of the MMFS student.

The Lower School Associate Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for:

• Teaching physical education classes to students in grades K-5
• Designing and implementing a curriculum that meets the needs of the students
• Collaborating with the teaching partner to implement a curriculum that meets the needs of the students
• Monitoring and stimulating educational and social-emotional growth within the framework of the school’s mission

• Master's degree in Physical Education or related field
• 3+ years of experience teaching physical education in a school setting
• Ability to design and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of students with learning disabilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
