Substitute School Nurse

Reports to: Current Nursing Staff

Position Summary

William Penn Charter School seeks Substitute School Nurses to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. The Substitute School Nurse provides nursing coverage on an as needed basis to support the health office during the academic school day. This includes providing episodic nursing care, emergency care, health promotion, and prevention education for grades pre-K through 12.

Essential Functions

  • Support and implement the school's health and wellness program.
  • Provide episodic nursing care and emergency care as needed.
  • Develop and implement health promotion and prevention education programs for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
