Washington Academy is seeking a highly motivated candidate for our position of School Counselor.
The primary responsibility of the School Counselor is to assist the Director of School Counseling in the overall functioning of the School Counseling Department and perform school counseling services for all freshmen and sophomores students.
The School Counselor is responsible for the comprehensive counseling plan of all students in their caseload, spanning freshmen and sophomores, and includes college planning and support for seniors when requested by the Director of School Counseling.
A Bachelor’s degree with Master’s in School Counseling, Social Work, LCSW, LCPC, in process is required but a Master’s degree is preferred. Experience at the high school level is a plus. Maine DOE Certification 075 or working towards certification preferred.
The successful candidate must hold a current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) through the Maine Department of Education.
