The Miami Valley School (MVS) is a unique learning community that challenges young people of promise to become self-sustaining learners and compassionate global citizens.
For 60+ years, MVS has provided a differentiated educational opportunity for families in the Dayton, Ohio, community. Our faculty are educators who are ready to help refine this experience-based learning approach, making MVS a nationally-recognized leader in the field.
At MVS, every member of the community is committed to transformative immersive learning in the classroom and during our Immersion term. We also prioritize Social Emotional Learning (SEL), teaching our students the skills and competencies necessary to navigate an ever-shifting world with confidence and curiosity.
We learn because we do.
The Role.
MVS is seeking a passionate and skillful full-time assistant teacher who is eager to invest their talents in our early childhood school. The ideal candidate will establish a supportive and engaging environment for early childhood students and be committed to developing critical and creative thinkers who collaborate and communicate effectively.
This new faculty member will join a team that strives to represent the diversity of the MVS community by creating and implementing culturally inclusive and responsive curricula. They should also demonstrate a teaching proficiency and comfort with a variety of different teaching and learning styles, including The Reggio Method, Waldorf, and Montessori.
As our primary focus of the early childhood school program is the social-emotional development of the whole child, new faculty should adhere to developmentally appropriate practices to support self-guided, investigative learning.
