This position will begin on May 4, 2026, continuing through the end of the school year (June 11, 2026) and resume in the fall of 2026, tentatively through mid-October.
Responsibilities include:
Implement and support English Language Arts for sixth grade students.
Implement and support Jewish Literature for sixth and eighth grade students.
Foster social-emotional growth using the Responsive Classroom approach, building a safe community of confident students.
Plan, prepare, and deliver innovative instructional lessons that facilitate active learning experiences.
Integrate the use of technology to provide a variety of educational activities.
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials.
Observe, evaluate, encourage, and provide feedback on students' performance and development.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Write report cards as needed.
Manage student behavior in the classroom by developing positive personal relationships and maintaining expectations and procedures.
Address individual learning and work closely with the Student Services team.
Promote a collaborative teaching environment where all responsibilities are managed with a team-oriented approach.
Report to lunch and recess duty as required.
Communicate with families about academic, social, and emotional growth.
As part of a team, participate and help plan community days and events.

Requirements
Master's degree in Education or related field.
Teaching certification in Michigan.
Experience working with students in a middle school setting.
Strong understanding of Responsive Classroom approach.
Ability to integrate technology into educational activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
