Located in the Philadelphia suburbs, the School has two campuses. Middle School English Teacher

Friends' Central School seeks a full-time Middle School English teacher starting in August 2026. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of the content area, have a deep understanding of the developmental needs of 11-to-14-year-old students, be committed to the School's Quaker values and mission, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will also be an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative teacher.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections of Middle School English – most likely 7th Grade.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment characterized by inquiry, exploration, and student engagement.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of the English and Humanities curriculum.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in English or related field.
  • Teaching experience in Middle School English.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the School's Quaker values and mission.
