Upper School Counselor (Grades 7 and 8)

Iolani School is an Episcopal day and boarding school in Honolulu, Hawai?i enrolling approximately 2,200 students on its K-12, 25-acre urban campus.

We seek an experienced Upper School Counselor for grades 7 and 8 to join our dynamic and collaborative Upper School counseling team for the 2026-27 academic year.

The role requires ongoing collaboration with students, families, teachers, and administrators.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide personal, social, and academic counseling and guidance to students.
• Coordinate all activity and communication involved in providing students support, such as meetings with students, families, teachers, and administrators when a student is experiencing an academic or personal challenge.
• Oversee the academic scheduling process for students.
• Help students identify their challenges in the learning process, defining their learning style preferences, and assisting them in implementing strategies and in developing self-advocacy skills.
• Teach a guidance course or structured study hall.
• Work with students in small groups to promote social and emotional learning.

• Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in school counseling or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
• Experience working with students in grades 7 and 8 preferred.
