Primary Purpose:

This position is responsible for classroom teacher functions. Provides instruction that is attentive to individual student's academic, social, and emotional needs.

Essential Job Functions:

This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external-funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.

The following are some of the key responsibilities of this position:

  • Records and maintains school, classroom, and students' information such as attendance, student files, referral information, progress reports, lesson plans, curriculum development, etc.
  • Attends and participates in departmental/division meetings, planning projects, activities, and school related evening and weekend programs.
  • Manages and maintains robotics and coding materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment. Reports and addresses safety concerns as needed.
  • Designs and implements engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and philosophy while fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive learning environment that reflects the school's philosophy.
  • Refers students, when necessary, following school procedures.
  • Communicates with parents and professional staff on a regular basis.
  • Develops and delivers instruction in coding, robotics, and computational thinking, incorporating hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
  • Integrates technology into the teaching-learning process.
  • Maintains proper discipline and assist students in developing self-discipline and a sense of responsibility.
  • Establishes a structured classroom environment with clear expectations and a focus on student growth.
  • Participates in arrival/dismissal, playground, and lunchroom supervision.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or related field.
  • Teaching certification in relevant subject area.
  • Experience in teaching robotics and computer science to high school students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
