Position: Director of Progressive Education Reports To: Head of School

Classification: Exempt

The School in Rose Valley is seeking a warm, collaborative, and visionary educational leader to join our close-knit community as Director of Progressive Education. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to guide and strengthen a mission-driven academic program where students learn through hands-on experiences, meaningful exploration, and authentic engagement. Working closely with the Head of School, faculty, and program leaders, the Director of Progressive Education will help ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience that supports the growth of the whole child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a cohesive, mission-aligned academic program across the school
  • Foster progressive, inquiry-based, and student-centered teaching practices
  • Supervise, coach, and support faculty growth and development
  • Partner with school leadership on hiring, evaluation, and academic planning
  • Promote inclusive curriculum and meaningful learning experiences for all students
  • Support a collaborative, reflective, and caring professional culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • 5–10 years of relevant educational and leadership experience
  • Experience in progressive and/or independent schools strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead with professionalism and integrity
