English Substitute Teacher (Half-Year Appointment)

We seek an English Substitute Teacher for a half-year appointment to provide continuity of instruction and student support during a faculty leave. The substitute teacher will assume responsibility for existing English courses, maintaining the established curriculum while fostering a classroom environment grounded in clarity, inclusion, and high expectations.

This role includes teaching responsibilities, collaboration with the English Department, communication with families, and participation in the broader faculty community during the term of the appointment.

• Teach assigned English courses using existing curriculum, materials, and pacing guides.
• Create a classroom environment that supports belonging, respect, and academic engagement.
• Assess student learning regularly and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
• Maintain accurate grading and communication through the school’s learning platforms.
• Support students in developing critical reading, analytical thinking, and writing skills.
