Position Summary

The Nurse Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the School’s health services program, ensuring high-quality, student-centered care for both day students and Residential Life boarding students while on campus. This role is responsible for the management and supervision of all nursing staff, the operations of the health centers, and the delivery of comprehensive health care services. The Nurse Manager partners closely with families, consulting physicians, faculty, residential staff, and school leadership to support the health and well-being of students in alignment with the mission of Saint Andrew’s School, and in accordance with Florida Board of Nursing regulations and School policies. This position reports to the Director of Wellness, PK-12 and collaborates with the school’s contracted physician to provide patient care for students.

Nurse Manager– Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff, fostering a collaborative, responsive, and student-focused health service environment.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate health services programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with School policies and Florida Board of Nursing regulations.
  • Collaborate with the school’s contracted physician to provide patient care for students, including assessing, diagnosing, and treating students in the health centers.
  • Supervise and manage the operations of the health centers, including managing inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of health services and support the health and well-being of students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in nursing and healthcare.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP) required.
  • Current Florida RN licensure required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing leadership or management, preferably in a school or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, families, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing high-quality, student-centered care.
