Position Overview

Hilton Head Preparatory School invites applications for a part-time Ceramics Teacher beginning August 2026. This position includes teaching two Upper School Ceramics courses and one Middle School Ceramics course, with classes meeting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The ideal candidate is a creative, student-centered educator who is passionate about ceramics and visual arts education. The successful candidate will foster artistic growth while helping students develop technical skills, creative confidence, perseverance, and an appreciation for the artistic process. Candidates should be able to create a welcoming studio environment where students are encouraged to explore, take risks, solve problems, and express themselves through clay.

Strong candidates will demonstrate:

  • Expertise in ceramics, pottery, sculpture, and clay-based artistic techniques
  • A passion for inspiring creativity and artistic exploration in adolescents
  • The ability to teach students with varying levels of artistic experience and ability
