Villa Academy seeks a full-time Instructional Assistant (2nd Grade) to join its team starting August 20, 2026. This assistant will support 2nd grade teachers, specialists, and students. Duties vary widely and include instructional work with individual students, small groups, or a whole class. Instructional assistant positions are full-time, requiring 8 hour work days during the academic calendar year.

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, informed, engaging, and focused on student-centered learning. They have a strong knowledge of school settings with an emphasis on student support and literacy development and an appreciation and enjoyment of early elementary students and an understanding of their learning and development.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with two 2nd grade teachers and the other assistant to support students learning and development both academically and socially-emotionally.
  • Support the cultivation of a positive classroom community across 2nd grade program utilizing Villa’s social-emotional learning and anti-bias curriculum.
  • Under the direction of 2nd grade teachers, provide support in assessing and evaluating student growth and development in literacy skills and mathematics.
  • Communicate clearly, kindly, productively, and effectively with colleagues, teachers, students, and families.
  • Conduct individual, small group, and whole class instruction as directed by the 2nd grade teachers.
