Description

Eagle Hill School, an independent boarding school in Hardwick, Massachusetts, seeks a teacher of English to join the faculty for the 2026-2027 school year.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in English or education and demonstrate an innovative approach to curriculum design and instruction.

We believe in the inevitability of human diversity and that reading and writing are social processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching writing courses with focuses on process, multimodality, genre, and rhetorical analysis.
  • Teaching literature with a focus on literary analysis.
  • Incorporating technology and other resources to enhance student learning.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to continually revise and implement the curriculum to adjust to diverse learners.
  • Communicating regularly with students, parents, and colleagues about student progress.
  • Engaging in the boarding school community and co-curricular programs.

Additional evening and weekend duties, such as advising a club or activity, coaching, or supervision of shared spaces, are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Readiness to teach all levels of English.
  • Ability to support students as they solve problems and think critically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
