The Lower School Math teacher is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in an independent K-12 school environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Teachers within a grade level and/or subject work as a team under the supervision of the Division Head and are full-time exempt employees. This position is eligible for full benefits.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively support the mission of The Fletcher School and its leadership in the execution of their role and responsibilities.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that are structured, multi-sensory, and targeted to individual learning styles to facilitate active learning and assist students in achieving their potential.
- Ensure that curriculum, lesson plans, and evaluations are in accordance with established school procedures and pedagogy.
- Collaborate with the grade-level team to achieve optimum outcomes for each student.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Teach remotely via an online platform if necessary.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the disciplinary systems of the School.
- Provide appropriate feedback and encouragement to students on their work.
- Monitor the progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies as indicated.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Participate in department, grade-level, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents.

Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field.
- Teaching certification or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of teaching and mentoring students in a K-12 environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
