Position Overview

Holton-Arms School invites applications for the position of Lower School Math Specialist (Grades 3–6). The Math Specialist is a pedagogical leader, instructional coach, and a core member of the Lower School Support Team. This role is responsible for the strategic health of the mathematics department, ensuring that every student—from those needing foundational support to those seeking high-level enrichment—receives a tailored and rigorous mathematical experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cycle-Based Planning: Meet with each grade-level team once every 10 days to co-plan units, align assessments, and develop instructional strategies.
  • Instructional Coaching: Provide coaching and support to teachers in the Lower School to enhance their mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical practices.
  • Mathematical Content Expertise: Develop and lead professional development opportunities for teachers to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts and pedagogies.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis: Analyze student assessment data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and students to ensure a seamless and supportive learning environment.
