Lower School Math Specialist

Summary:

We are seeking a visionary Lower School Math Specialist to serve as a pedagogical leader, instructional coach, and expert practitioner. This role integrates pedagogical research into dynamic classroom practice, working directly with students and collaborating with faculty, to foster a culture of 'math confidence' and deep mastery for the entire school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Leadership & Research: Serve as the primary filter for mathematics research, translating theory into actionable classroom strategies. Lead the implementation of innovative, research-based programs that prioritize conceptual progression over rote learning.

Instructional Coaching: Build faculty capacity by co-teaching, modeling lessons, and

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education or a related field (preferred). Deep mastery of the K-8 mathematical continuum and the ability to teach students of varying abilities.
• Proven experience in curriculum development and implementation, instructional coaching, and teaching advanced students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, faculty, and parents.
