The Middle School Dean of Students plays a pivotal role in shaping the culture, well-being, and daily student experience of Bosque School’s middle school. Working closely with the Middle School Division Head, the Dean of Students helps cultivate a community where students feel known, supported, and challenged to grow. This role blends student support, culture leadership, and collaboration with faculty and families. The Dean of Students partners with colleagues to guide student conduct, support social-emotional development, and help students navigate the complexities of adolescence with accountability, care, and respect. The Dean of Students also contributes to student learning by teaching designated components of the middle school WELLBEING curriculum.

Through daily presence, thoughtful partnership with adults, and meaningful engagement with students, the Dean of Students helps steward a middle school environment where community, responsibility, and belonging thrive.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Culture & Conduct

  • Serve as a central leader in maintaining a positive, respectful, and inclusive middle school culture.
  • Guide student conduct by responding to incidents, mediating conflicts, and providing support to students in need.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being, social-emotional learning, and character development.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with adolescents in a school setting.
  • Proven track record of leadership, collaboration, and community building.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
