Description

Merion Mercy Academy, an independent Catholic girls’ school outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, seeks a faith-filled leader to serve as the Campus Minister beginning July 2026. This is a full time, 12 month position.

The Campus Minister embodies the School’s mission and Catholic identity with attention given to the spirituality and charism of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.

The Campus Minister provides pastoral care, nurtures the spiritual growth of the community, and helps others deepen their relationship with Christ.

As a key leader in advancing the school’s Catholic Mercy identity, the Campus Minister provides organized, mission-driven leadership of the ministry program and works with Student Ministry Teams to oversee preparations for school Masses.

The Campus Minister partners with students, faculty, staff and community organizations to thoughtfully develop and implement prayer experiences, retreats, service opportunities, and other initiatives that support the spiritual life of the community.

The Campus Minister helps create an atmosphere of Mercy hospitality where all feel welcome, based on Catholic faith traditions and rituals and celebrates the diversity of the various faith traditions existent within the community.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to nurturing students in social consciousness based on an integrative understanding of Gospel values, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy, empowering students to serve and to work for justice.

Requirements

  • Assumes responsibility for all components of community prayer/worship including but not limited to all Masses, prayer services, and celebrations (including Kairos and grade level retreats).
  • Develops and implements a strategic vision for Campus Ministry programming, including goal-setting, assessment, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides pastoral care and nurtures the spiritual growth of the community.
  • Helps others deepen their relationship with Christ.
  • Partners with students, faculty, staff, and community organizations to develop and implement prayer experiences, retreats, service opportunities, and other initiatives that support the spiritual life of the community.
  • Creates an atmosphere of Mercy hospitality where all feel welcome, based on Catholic faith traditions and rituals.
  • Dedicated to nurturing students in social consciousness based on an integrative understanding of Gospel values, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy.
