The Newman School is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-centered middle school science teacher to join our faculty.
Newman faculty report directly to the Assistant Head of School and are members of an academic department, responsible for planning and implementing course curriculum as designed and assigned by the department chair and meeting departmental objectives.
In addition to teaching, faculty advise a group of students and contribute to the broader school program — clubs, activities, and athletics — the equivalent of one out of two terms.
The successful candidate will be a passionate educator committed to Newman's mission and to the goals of the International Baccalaureate: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
They will bring strong science content expertise, a passion for hands-on investigation, and the energy to inspire 7th and 8th graders to think and work like scientists — designing and delivering inquiry-based lessons aligned to the IB MYP sciences framework and integrating research, experimentation, and real-world relevance throughout the curriculum.
