The First Grade Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a dynamic, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for First Grade students. This role supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of each child through thoughtful planning, differentiated instruction, and the integration of current pedagogy and best practices in education. The teacher serves as a collaborative team member, contributing to a cohesive and forward-thinking Primary School program.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare classroom environments and instructional materials to support daily learning experiences.
  • Plan and implement a balanced program of instruction that meets the needs of all students.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Elementary Education or related field.
  • Valid California teaching credential.
  • Experience teaching First Grade or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
