Trevor Day School is seeking candidates for a full-time Upper School French Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year.

Candidates should be prepared to teach classes to students in 9th through 12th grade, including advanced coursework focused on French and/or Francophone literature and cinema.

The candidate should have a strong desire to work with a diverse student body and faculty in an open and collaborative environment.

All Trevor teachers serve as advisors and participate actively in the daily life of the school.

World Language classes at Trevor are activity-based and complemented by the use of both digital and print materials.

Various methods are used to assess student learning and provide effective feedback.

As much as possible, classes are taught in an immersion style in the target language.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, as well as a minimum of three years of experience teaching French.
  • Native-level fluency is preferred.
  • Comfort with differentiating instruction to accommodate a range of learning styles.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance classroom learning.
  • Proven ability to form strong, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A growth mindset and lifelong dedication to learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, patience, and a sense of humor.
