AIM Academy is seeking a Wilson Reading and Writing teacher to join our seasoned faculty. We are focused on tapping into the unique strengths and characteristics of students who learn differently in grades 1–12.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching the Wilson Reading System® at multiple levels. WRS is designed for students in Grades 2–12 and adults with word-level deficits and uses a structured, multisensory approach to support reading development. In addition to teaching Wilson, the candidate will also support middle school students in writing, as all students participate in either Wilson or Writing as part of their literacy intervention block.
The Writing curriculum is designed to develop students' skills as confident, effective communicators through purposeful and engaging writing experiences. Teachers provide explicit instruction in the writing process, guiding students through planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing across a variety of genres. Using research-based instructional practices, technology, collaborative learning, and targeted feedback, teachers help students strengthen their organization, voice, craft, and command of language while becoming independent, reflective writers.
An ideal candidate for this position would also have experience working with children with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, as well as students with processing or attention issues.
