Grace Episcopal School is seeking Extended Care Assistant Teachers to play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, emotional and physical growth of students through our after school extended care programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities
Supporting a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment aligned with Grace’s mission and character values
Engaging with students at their developmental level, encouraging creativity, problem-solving and social-emotional growth
Supervising children with care during classroom, play and meal times
Building positive relationships with families and collaborating with the school team to support each child
Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing growth and learning
Assistant Teachers work closely with lead teachers and the Coordinator of After School Extended Care to ensure a high-quality experience for all students
Qualifications:
High school diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
18 years or older
Significant experience working with young children
Medical form to confirm (by a doctor or physician’s assistant) the ability to meet physical demands of the job as required by Virginia licensure for Grace Episcopal School
Successful completion of criminal offender record information and sexual offender registry information check
