Description

Grace Episcopal School is seeking Extended Care Assistant Teachers to play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, emotional and physical growth of students through our after school extended care programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities
  • Supporting a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment aligned with Grace’s mission and character values
  • Engaging with students at their developmental level, encouraging creativity, problem-solving and social-emotional growth
  • Supervising children with care during classroom, play and meal times
  • Building positive relationships with families and collaborating with the school team to support each child
  • Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing growth and learning
  • Assistant Teachers work closely with lead teachers and the Coordinator of After School Extended Care to ensure a high-quality experience for all students

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 18 years or older
  • Significant experience working with young children
  • Medical form to confirm (by a doctor or physician’s assistant) the ability to meet physical demands of the job as required by Virginia licensure for Grace Episcopal School
  • Successful completion of criminal offender record information and sexual offender registry information check

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher
  • 18 years or older
  • Significant experience working with young children
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job
  • Successful completion of background checks
