South Kent School seeks a highly motivated Athletic Trainer to support our nationally recognized athletic programs and school community. This position will be one of two athletic trainers working together to take care of approximately 140 student-athletes.
South Kent School has four high-level programs: ice hockey, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. Ice hockey has four teams (18U, 16U, and 15O) that all compete at a AAA travel level. Our 18U team also competes in the Prep Hockey Conference. We have two basketball teams and two soccer teams. Our Prep Basketball and Prep Soccer teams both compete within NEPSAC. The Development teams still have a competitive schedule and feed into our Prep teams. Many of our athletes go on to play at prestigious Division I schools, and some of them will play professionally. We also have other sports offerings for our students to participate in, including mountain biking, cross country, golf, and a third basketball team (equivalent to JV).
Responsibilities:
Provide athletes with prevention, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries and illnesses.
Provide documentation of injuries and illnesses.
Assist for medical coverage of home practices, home games, and travel with hockey as necessary.
Assist in coordinating concussion baseline testing and any follow up testing per concussion protocol.
Assist as a liaison between students and their families, physicians, health center, coaches, or other support staff.
Educate the athletes on their injuries or other questions they may have.
Work in coordination with the Health Department to cover administrative tasks, which may include managing the budget, ordering supplies, reviewing EAP and policies/procedures, and reviewing standing orders.
Willing to travel and work extended hours, including during weekends and breaks.
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification or eligibility for certification.
Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
Experience working with high school or collegiate student-athletes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
