Description

The Hun School of Princeton seeks a dynamic and creative full-time Athletic Trainer. The full-time athletic trainer is responsible for the care, treatment, and prevention of athletic injuries and for all students involved in the interscholastic program.

The athletic trainer, under the supervision of the team physician and Head Athletic Trainer, is also responsible for implementing programs to prevent injuries, to treat injuries, and to establish procedures for rehabilitation.

The athletic trainer position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer and the Co-Directors of Athletics, is a 10-month, full time position, beginning with August pre-season camps and ending in June. Part-time summer hours may be available for our on-site student athletes and camps.

Responsibilities Overview:

Work with athletic training team with all aspects of our athletic training program, including but not limited to:

  • Attend practices/games of athletic events. Game days and practices days could include School scheduled days off and holidays as well as weekends;
  • Carry out patient specific rehabilitation programs;
  • Maintaining the training room its cleanliness;
  • Meet & communicate with the head athletic trainer on a daily basis;
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date files for the following:
    • Medical excuses and release forms;
    • Initial injury/ accident report forms;
    • Pre-season physical forms (in coordination with the Health Services Office);
    • Daily log treatment;
    • IMPACT baseline testing;
    • Communicate athlete participation and clearance status with coaches;
    • Prepare a list of students with Allergy and Medication issues for coaches.

    • Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with our health office and coaches, and keep proper inventory;
    • Distribute water coolers and ice coolers to teams as needed;
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Co-Directors of Athletics.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field;
  • National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) certification;
  • Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid;
  • Ability to work with students of all ages and abilities;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
