The New Community School is currently hiring a Long-Term Substitute Teacher, English.
This teacher will teach small classes (6-8 students/class) of Upper School students in a supportive, professional environment.
Job Description:
Teaches English 10 utilizing curriculum designated by The New Community School.
Develops lesson plans in collaboration with the classroom teacher to include a balanced art program and organizes daily class time so that instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
Adapts the curriculum to provide individual and small group learning opportunities.
Keeps appropriate and up to date records to include attendance reports and gradebook.
Establishes and maintains an orderly, productive classroom environment.
Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students.
Communicates with parents on student progress.
Participates in professional learning activities.
Becomes familiar with and follows school and division procedures for routines and emergencies.
Performs other duties as requested by the school administration.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
