The Phelps School is seeking an innovative, energetic Assistant Soccer Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The position offers a tremendous opportunity to work with an elite soccer program at an independent boarding and day school.

The Assistant Soccer Coach will be engaged across the whole community, serving a vital role in the classroom, admissions office, or in an administrative position, depending on the candidate's experience and interest.

The Assistant Soccer Coach will be responsible for helping to recruit prospective student-athletes, supporting a competitive schedule, practice planning, and game management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a preeminent soccer program that exemplifies the mission of The Phelps School, including a year-round training program with an emphasis on skill development, strength, and conditioning.
  • Attend all practices and games.
  • Assist in recruiting high-caliber players of character, both domestic and international.
  • Assist with college placement of our student-athletes.

The assistant coach may have the opportunity to serve on the residential life staff, with campus housing provided. Salary and residential life responsibilities are determined accordingly.

Requirements

  • Experience in soccer coaching, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Knowledge of soccer rules and regulations.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
