The Phelps School seeks an instructor of middle and upper school sciences for the 2026-27 school year.
Course assignments are flexible but would likely include Physical Science, Physics, and potentially one other elective.
Class sizes are typically five to twelve students.
The instructor will foster a dynamic classroom environment that is conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of boys while cultivating a learning experience that motivates each student along their individual academic journey.
Teachers at Phelps serve as advisors to as many as five students and are fully involved in co-curricular programs as coaches, activity sponsors, weekend trip chaperones, and/or community service project supervisors.
Some reside on campus in faculty housing and serve as dorm parents (supervisors).
They are dynamic men and women dedicated to helping each boy become a better man – in and out of the classroom.
They enjoy working with students in relatively small classes and engaging collaboratively in curriculum design and constant professional improvement.
They strive to integrate technology into their teaching and to help improve students’ creativity and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
The teacher may have the opportunity to serve on the residential life staff, with campus housing provided.
Salary and residential life responsibilities are determined accordingly.
