The Advent School, located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, serves 130 students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. A mission-driven school founded on the principles of social justice, Advent has supported the students and families of Boston since 1961. Through its Reggio Emilia–inspired curriculum, Advent’s faculty delivers authentic, rigorous, and experiential learning opportunities that encourage students to learn with passion, act with courage, and change the world.
The Advent School seeks a Music Teacher who brings creativity, curiosity, and strong pedagogical knowledge to our vibrant learning community. Grounded in principles of social justice and inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the Advent music program values inquiry, collaboration, and joyful exploration.
The Music Teacher will be responsible for fostering a love of music through playful movement, instrument exploration, and the development of foundational musical concepts. This role will involve teaching students across both the Brimmer and West Cedar Street campuses, collaborating closely with classroom teachers and specialist colleagues to support an integrated, thematic curriculum rooted in social justice, and communicating regularly with families through weekly updates and twice-yearly progress reports.
The Music Teacher will also coordinate and lead key school-wide performances, including the Winter Concert, Sixth Grade Spring Musical, and Graduation.
