The Stony Brook School seeks a talented, mission-aligned faculty member to join the Mathematics Department beginning in August 2026. This role will include teaching AP Statistics, which currently has three full sections. This faculty member may also teach additional mathematics courses or advanced electives based on departmental needs and the candidate's strengths. Our Math Department offers a robust range of upper-level opportunities, with six courses and nearly 100 students pursuing mathematics beyond AP Calculus. In the 2025-26 school year, SBS had 22 AIME qualifiers and four USAMO candidates.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Education, or a related field (master's degree strongly preferred)
  • Three or more years of teaching experience
  • A demonstrated growth mindset and enthusiasm for developing as a teacher, mentor, and colleague
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to serve in a faith-based educational environment that emphasizes Christian scholarship and character formation
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a team of educators
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
