Marlborough School is an independent girls' college-preparatory school for grades 7 through 12 located in Los Angeles, California.
Founded in 1889, Marlborough is the oldest independent girls' school in the Southern California region. Central to Marlborough's vision that Equity Leads Education is the belief in and passion for empowering young women to use their immense talents to better the world and become trailblazers in their own right.
Bolstered by world-class faculty and staff, Marlborough students are challenged and inspired to work towards their own personal best and, in doing so, have an almost endless array of courses, extracurriculars, electives, and programs to spark their curiosity, deepen their compassion for one another, and lead lives of purpose.
We are seeking a teacher to join our World Languages department, where they will instruct three French courses across the Middle and Upper School Divisions.
Marlborough's French courses develop the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and include appropriate cultural, historical, and literary materials at all levels. In addition, the Department seeks to expose students to current events, culture, and identities in the Francophone world.
To better facilitate the Department's goals, we expect students to use little or no English in class, even at the novice level. Beyond classroom teaching, this position offers the opportunity to be an active participant in the dynamic Marlborough community; teachers collaborate as part of a team to ensure a consistent and cohesive experience for students, and there are various opportunities to engage in school life.
