Description

Urban School of San Francisco seeks a full-time teacher in Mandarin Chinese to teach all levels of the Chinese language.

Ideal candidates should have a strong background in Chinese language and literature, native or near-native fluency, comfort with an immersion classroom, expertise in differentiated instruction, and a deep understanding of the Second Language Acquisition (SLA) process and the needs of adolescents.

This is a full-time position that includes advising a small group of students.

The school is looking for a dynamic, creative teacher who has enthusiasm for working with high school students, a commitment to innovative pedagogy and collaboration with colleagues, comfort and familiarity with the use of relevant technology to enhance learning, and a commitment to equity pedagogy, anti-racist teaching practices, and to their own continued professional growth.

Ideal candidates should have curriculum design and curriculum development experience, working knowledge of how to support students with learning differences, and at least two years' experience teaching Chinese at the secondary level.
