Middle School Humanities Teacher

Full-time, 10 Months, Faculty Exempt

Key School is seeking a full-time Middle School Humanities Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Reporting to the Middle School Division Head, the successful candidate will teach two sections of Humanities (two preparations). In addition, this position includes advising a group of 12-14 students. This teacher would also offer a club or activity during half of the school year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teach two sections of developmentally appropriate Middle School (grades 5 - 8) Humanities courses
• Collaborate with Humanities colleagues in the Middle School and other divisions
• Advise a group of 12-14 students as a homeroom teacher
• Sponsor a club or activity for half of the school year
• Supervise lunch and recess activities three times per week

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree preferred
• Two to three years of classroom teaching experience

• Educational background in Humanities (English/Language Arts and/or Social Studies/History)
• Experience teaching Humanities at the Middle School level

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Culturally responsive and nurturing teaching style
• Familiarity with learning management systems such as Google Classroom
